Winner Announced: IAFL European Chapter Young Lawyers' Award 2024

Olalla García-Arreciado has been announced as the winner of the 12th IAFL European Chapter Annual Award for Young Family Lawyers.
Entrants were asked to write 3,000 words on a case study that focused on a child access and maintenance case across a number of European jurisdictions.
The judging panel, comprising IAFL Fellows Alexandre Boiché (France), Sandra Verburgt (Netherlands), Ruth Cabeza (England), Karen O'Leary (Ireland & Northern Ireland), Olga Khazova (Russian Federation), Alberto Perez-Cedillo (Spain and England) and Marzia Ghigliazza (Italy) were impressed by the quality of submissions that they reviewed.
Alexandre Boiché said, “We were thrilled by the amount of entries received. All of the entries were of exceptional quality, without any exceptions. We are brainstorming ideas to make the Young Lawyers' Award 2025 attractive to all young family lawyers, regardless of where they practise. Details of the 2025 Award will be revealed later in the year".
Olalla García-Arreciado, Associate (Spanish qualified), Howard Kennedy LLP, England receives €1,000 as part of her prize. The two runners up, Gaëlle Bonnet, Cabinet Sussman, France and Katharine Cramond, Pennington Manches Cooper LLP, England are each awarded €500. They have also been invited to attend the IAFL Introduction to European Family Law Conference in Thessaloniki next month, 17 & 18 April.
The topic for the European Chapter Young Lawyers Award 2025 will be announced later this year. Participation in this competition provides an excellent opportunity for any young family lawyer wishing to gain acknowledged expertise in the field of international family law.
