Hague Report on Malta Process
Posted: 10 May 2016
Please see the Hague Conference report of the Malta IV Conference on Cross-Frontier Child Protection and Family Law from 2 – 5 May 2016. IAFL was represented by Anne-Marie Hutchinson OBE QC (Hon) and we are mentioned in the first paragraph.
The Malta Process promotes co-operation with countries with legal systems influenced by or based upon Shari’a law for the international protection of children and the resolution of complex, trans-frontier family conflicts. There was particular discussion surrounding the Hague Conventions of 1980 and 1996 and the maintenance convention of 2007. This is the fourth such conference to be held and Anne-Marie has been to them all.
Anne-Marie had an opportunity to tell the 130 representatives from 34 countries and the international organisations present about IAFL and the work we are doing.
Many thanks once again to Anne-Marie for her tremendous support of IAFL and for flying the flag so successfully.
Anne-Marie will report fully at the IAFL Annual Meeting in New Delhi in September.
