IAML Cambridge University Travel Studentship
Posted: 9 Mar 2012
The first winner of the IAML Cambridge University Travel Studentship is Julia Schulman of London, who is a 2nd year law undergraduate at Pembroke College, Cambridge. Julia's winning essay discusses the proposition that the criminal law is not the appropriate forum for dealing with domestic violence and discusses the integrated approach to these serious issues adopted in the United States. The essay may be accessed through the link below. Julia was educated at the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle, London and is fluent in French and German. She holds dual German and American citizenship. She is the Secretary of the Cambridge Union Society (the world famous debating society).
I am pleased to announce that Aronson Mayefsky & Sloan LLP of New York have agreed to host Julia as an intern in August 2012.
I am delighted that a candidate of such outstanding ability has won the first travel studentship. The award underlines the importance of attracting the most talented young lawyers to international family law. Julia clearly falls into this category.
