Profile
Shirley is a member of the Bars of Ontario (1988) and New York State (1991). Her practice emphasis includes both family law and fertility law. She obtained her mediation certification from the Law Society of Ontario, and has had extensive collaborative practice training in the context of separation and divorce. She is the current Co-Chair of the Law and Ethics Special Interest Group of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society, and past Chair of Collaborative Practice Toronto (now Collaborative Divorce Toronto). In the context of fertility law, she has been invited to speak at numerous conferences and seminars in both Canada and the US, including various Bar Associations, University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall Law Schools, the National Judges Institute (Ontario), the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys, of which she is an elected Fellow, and the International Academy of Family Lawyers. She was invited to teach the first Fertility Law course at Queens University Law School in Ontario in 2019, and continues to do so.
