Jane Keir is an English family lawyer who has practiced at UK top 100 London law firm Kingsley Napley LLP since 1989. She represents equal numbers of women and men in their divorce and financial proceedings and most recently represented the successful wife in a rare compensation case (RC v JC [2020] EWHC 466 (Fam)) and she also represented a wife in fending off financial claims against her family’s trusts in Daga v Bangur [2018] EWFC 91 in what has become known as the ‘gold digger’ case. She has a special interest in the operation of pre and post nuptial agreements and wrote a comparative piece ‘Second Look States – not so different after all?’ for the English law journal ‘Family Law’ comparing the operation of pre nuptial agreements between England & Wales and a number of US states. Jane was Kingsley Napley LLP’s Senior Partner between 2013 and 2018 after which she returned full time to the practice of family law. She was elected a Fellow of the IAFL in 2006 and spoke at the USA and Canadian Chapter meeting, in Los Angeles in February 2016 and at the Annual Meeting in New Delhi the same year. She also spoke at the AAML – CLE November 2019 Annual Meeting in Chicago on the topic of "Discovery Beyond Our Borders: Gathering Information in International Cases" - An English perspective".
