International Family Lawyer and co-head of the Private Wealth Sector at Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP. Visiting Professor at Ulster University. General Editor of the ‘Blue Book’ (Family Law: A Global Guide, Thomson Reuters 2024), the seminal comparative guide to international family law. James is the recipient of a number of industry awards including Chambers High Net Worth ‘Family Partner of the Year’ 2018 and Citywealth ‘Family Lawyer of the Year’ 2023. Admitted in England & Wales (1990) and in Northern Ireland (2012). IAFL Fellow (2005). Former IAFL Governor and Parliamentarian. James is a family arbitrator, a collaborative lawyer and one of a small group of leading family lawyers, KCs and senior judges who serve on the family law consultation board of Practical Law.
