Dervla Browne started work as a barrister in 1986 and has practiced as a Senior Counsel since 2005. She specializes in family, child and international law. Represented the applicant in Keegan v. Ireland before the European Court of Human Rights in 1994. Has appeared in a number cases before the European Court of Justice, including McB v. E. in 2010, which concerned the meaning of "custody rights" in Regulation 2001/2003. She has lectured in Ireland and abroad in matters concerning international family law. Dervla has given expert evidence in US and European cases. In 2020 Dervla was conferred with Post-graduate Diploma in Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution ( Distinction) in Trinity College Dublin. She is a Mediator (CEDR accredited and certified MII) with a specific interest in mediation of international family and child law disputes. Member of Experts’ Group on Family Agreements involving Children in the Hague Conference.
