Profile

Qualified as a solicitor in 2004 (England & Wales) and licenced by the Dubai Department of Legal Affairs as a legal consultant (since 2007). Is a Resolution accredited specialist (international and financial provision), and sits on Resolution’s international committee. Practised family law in Dubai for 9 years, advising British expatriates in the region and working closely with UAE advocates. A specialist in UAE family law, and regularly provides expert reports on these laws in particular the relocation of children, safeguards and enforcement. Wrote the UAE chapter of Family Law Jurisdictional Comparisons (2nd Edition), talks at conferences and contributes to legal journals on Sharia and other family law matters. Is now based in London. Expatriate Law, founded by Alexandra and her father, David Hallam-Peel, specialises in advising British expatriates (from the UAE, Singapore, Qatar and other expat hubs) on divorce and family law matters.
