IAFL Fellows and Family Lawyers from around the world may be interested in attending a course held virtually by ERA - the Academy of European Law. It will take place online on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th January 2022 and will be delivered in English.
This online seminar will present major judgments related to family matters issued by the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in 2020/21. It will provide participants with a detailed understanding of this recent jurisprudence. The focus will be on Article 8 (respect for private and family life), Article 12 (right to marry and to found a family) and Article 14 (prohibition of discrimination) ECHR. The presentation of the ECtHR case law will consider not only the legal implications but also social, emotional and biological factors.
The key topics will be:
- Sexual orientation and gender identity
- Children’s rights and compulsory vaccination for children
- Parental rights and cross-border child abduction
- Surrogacy
The seminar will be hosted on ERA’s own online training platform. You will be able to interact immediately and directly with ERA's top-quality speakers and other participants, break out into working groups and work collaboratively on case studies.
